Overview
The Hyundai Kona Electric is a battery-powered version of the popular Kona subcompact crossover that launched in 2018. It was the first electric in its class to be offered in Canada and is one of the most affordable EVs currently on offer.

Two years in, there are no changes to the 415 km electric crossover for 2021.
Available Trims
The Kona EV stars with Essential trim, offering a 150 kW motor and 64 kWh lithium-ion polymer battery, it is also available in Preferred and Ultimate trims.
Standard Features
Essential includes driver assistance like forward collision avoidance and lane keeping. It offers Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as well as six-way manual front seats, proximity keyless entry with push-button start, automatic temperature control, power locks and windows, 7.0-inch digital cluster, and six speakers.
Preferred adds a battery heating system and energy-saving heat pump. It has adaptive cruise, pedestrian detection, blind spot collision warning with lane change assist, driver attention warning, rear cross-traffic warning, and rear parking sensors. Preferred has heated front seats and steering wheel with Infinity premium audio and a leather-wrapped wheel completing the upgrades.
Ultimate adds a 10.25-inch infotainment screen with navigation, high beam assist, and front parking distance sensors. The driver seat is 8-way power adjust with leather for all seats and ventilated fronts. There is wireless device charging, a head-up display, and a power sunroof as well as LED headlights.
